Many of our beloved are ill in this fluey season and I think they need a little love. I am one of the lucky healthy ones so I've decided to create an art project to help very minimally.
This is an open call for entries, asking you submit your "loudest image" at the request of and for the aesthetic enjoyment of my friend Cody who is sick. And send whatever you pick as your entry to your random sick friend too!
You don't have to follow the loudness topic, you can also submit your best bumble bee face, but no other subject will ever be considered for our grandest prize cause it's my contest.

send images to beheppe@gmail.com
If it turns out well I will put an adorable little section on my website all about it and i"ll talk about how great people are.

Bring some fun to the infirm! Deadline is the 1st

GRANDEST ONLY PRIZE: one dollar and 2 karma points will go to the creator of Cody's favorite picture.

Fashion Face-Call for Participation

Hey everyone, I'm doing a project for my alternative media class and need some help. The assignment is to do a subversive fashion project and mine will include as many pictures as possible of people making a "model face". I'm trying to include lots of photos of people from outside the normal (skinny, symmetrical, young) model category. I've been going up to people and asking them to pose and, though they tend to feel silly, they usually say yes. I've gotten a lot of great pictures so far but for my project to work the way I want I'll need a lot more. So, if you could send me a picture of you, and anyone else willing, giving the camera that silly "I'm bored, I'm hot, and you love it" face that would be great! This does not have to be done with a great camera, you can do it with your web cam or camera phone or anything. You don't need to touch them up at all either, this is about real people, pores and all. The finished product will be published online and possibly in an installation.
Thanks gorgeouses!
You can send it to my email beheppe@gmail.com

Yessss, got to be on Warren Ellis' blog today. He invited everyone to send a picture of their message to the world on what is said to be the most miserable day of the year (today)and that he would try to post them. However, it kind of back fired, considering it pretty much made my day. My theory is that he was just trying to give everyone a fun little activity to make up for the sucky day- what a pal.

This is George.

Decided last minute to apply to SCAD, and since all my art is lost in storage among the family trinkets - I had like a week to make a portfolio which I hope will get me some money for school. Ian helped so much, he is responsible for a lot of the brilliant titles (which i normally leave out altogether). He also stayed up all night with me just about every night for moral support, three cheers to the boy! So I'm going to be posting that over the next week or so, it is mainly photography and painting....

Star Boys, 1

Star Boys, 2

My summer with Ian has been amazing. First we went up North to visit his entire family, and sure it was a little stressful (mainly cause I got sick) but they were great. Then we came back to Savannah and got all tucked in to our home. I've been learning how to ride a bike in the city which is getting easier though still freaks me out a bit. Also have been playing some flute, reading some Sandman, and just being happier and felt more at home than I have in a while.
Anywho, these are two photos from when Ian's dad let me play on his drum set. the first one i took and the one where i'm totally rocking out ian took.
:) summer timeeeeee

I've been busy being the second mom of the house since i've been back in SC, while trying to maintain my "cool older sister" title. There is a lot of tension in the family (with moving and people being around each other too much) and everyone seems to have appointed me family counselor; which is good practice for me (since i want to be an art therapist, but is a bit stressful. Lots of cleaning and trying to keep the house looking like an L.L. Bean catalog everyday.
The kids were all playing in the pool the other day and I accidentally used a whole roll of film on them. I'm going to miss this backyard a whole lot. I'm supposed to call a bunch of people to hang with while I'm in town but frankly I kind of have more fun with the kids, no pressure --just silly. I'm so busy and tired out from doing the tedious packing and cleaning that it's just easier to stay in and watch Short Circuit and Monk.
Can't wait to get out of here though, it has felt like the day before a big trip for a week and a half now and its a strange way to live.

i will figure out a better way to post pictures this summer, i promise

So I was going to leave school friday, but then on Thursday I agreed to be a last minute actor in a short film some friends were making. We started filming Sunday at like 7 am and didn't finish til like 8 30 that night; then of course we had to have an after party to celebrate our success. It was tons of fun. I play a rather masculine girl, Courtney/Dylan, who identitfies as male and who does not get along with her ridiculous roommate, Bart. Bart refuses to respect her and in the beginning he throws me in the shower, at one point I slap him in the face while choking him on the floor, at another point he is working out with two jugs of wine, at ANOTHER point i rub heads with a girl while our hair is covered in aloe, and in the end we happily wrap him in tape. Sooooo pretty much it's going to be the best short film ever. And I've never acted before but I think it went well. Here is a picture of me as Courtney and Blacki as "Bart":

and now that that and all my stupid finals are done i'm at home for a little while, trying to sell some of my stuff so I can go to Savannah and start an amazing, broke, fun summer

i woke up from a dream about my ex boyfriend, what a shitty way to start the day. I was at his house in California and was going through his stuff with this butler, who doesn't really exist but who determined that i wasn't insane and tried to help, I guess trying to figure out if he still loved me or not? Ex boyfriend came home and it was half him upset for me being there, half us totally still completely drawn to each other. I'm so sick of this, we didn't date that long and it has been almost a year since we broke up. I still think he is just well, the best, but I hate waking up with this feeling of i don't know what.
on a totally random note...some people have an amazing smell, it almost seems like that is a huge part of their charm. from my night out i ended up with another girl's sweater in my bag totally by accident, I've let her know and shes coming to pick it up, but right now its just hanging there on my doorknob and i swear i can smell it from here. it smells so good! i guess i'm a total creeper for saying that-oh well it just makes me hope i have a good smell, cause i don't think you can really check what your own smell is...hhmmmm my thoughts are so intellectual i hope you can keep up
to make up for the gross love rant i suppose i should put something neat on here

while this may look like trash stapled to a wall, it is actually a picture of my painting "toes" from my most recent gallery show with my best buddy Ian.
if you have the patience for it to load, you can pretty much experience being there at ourartisttrip.com

Jake Gyllenhaal, Mr Rogers, Fate, Subconscious Yoga

I don't know where to begin. Well my Mom and Peter are getting paid to be extras in Jake Gylenthingy's new movie which is being shot in Columbia. Not only that, apparently Jake hangs out with my cousin's friends and they were driving around the other day and Jake heard a song he liked and bimbamboom one of my friends is now making Jake Gyllenhaal a mix, mad world indeed. Ha man I'm so excited for them, this is all so random and I feel like such an american for being tickled by this indirect interaction with someone famous.
Also, it is the end of the year, and now I'm finally starting to meet more people. I don't think I ever didn't have the ability to make friends, I just couldn't be bothered and couldn't not be let down by what I found. But apparently with the end in sight I've become a lot less cynical and, with a complex twist of fate, met some cool people.
Friday evening was really very strange. My friend and I went out to Tech and didn't even have plans or anyone to meet and just happend upon a few girls from agnes walking by and ended up hanging out at their friends' place til like 4 30 am. young hooligans we are...but yeah something must have happened to change my life bc it was all just so seredipitous.
I've also noticed that my behavior when I'm out meeting people (esp when the situation includes alcohol)is strange but has a pattern. Apparently I like to talk about how I was friends with Mr. Rogers (true story, he came to my house, buy me a drink and I'll tell you all about it) and teach people yoga. It could be worse, but seriously the last three times I've been out meeting people I've taught the crow position without even thinking about it. Ha maybe that is subconsciously what I want to "be when I grow up"
Now I'm packing my stuff and watching a bunch of awesome movies and trying to make myself work just a little longer.
here's a photo to keep this a picture book, two silly pictures, two silly friends, never too silly

ohoh and i watched the history channel today and learned how big the universe is
OMG so cool, gravity and galaxy clusters etc., heres to dark matter
